Great series but ended off horribly. Wish they could have continued with the series.

I actually thought the series ending was quite appropriate, as it ends pretty much where the first episode begins. It’s certainly not a happy ending, but those are overrated. This ending emphasizes the question posed at the beginning of whether men can rise above their fates (gutts) or not (griffiths), and reveals the darker side of the pursiut of dreams which griffiths praised so much throughout the series, balancing out one’s perspective, and leaving many things to ponder. I think one can walk away satisfied that this is a complete chapter in the Berserk saga, since many of the relationships that were focused on have been concluded, while pretty much only the main characters have survived, giving people a reason to seek the continuation of the story (in the manga), but also giving people a reason to be satisfied with ending the journey here if they so wish.
