.hack//Roots has 26 episodes and aired on TV Tokyo. The final episode was broadcast on September 27, 2006. In North America, the series started airing on Saturday, November 11th, 2006 at 5:00am EST on Cartoon Network, with no prior advertising or announcements given whatsoever. All of Cartoon Network’s promos except for their online schedule page indicate that My Gym Partner’s a Monkey airs in this timeslot, even the one that appears at the bottom of the screen during the show. For reasons seemingly unknown, Cartoon Network chose to restart the series at Episode #1 after only 21 episodes were broadcast, leaving the last five unaired. However, it is believed that they don’t want to spoil the storyline and are waiting until .hack//G.U. Volume 2 is released.

unfortunately, this anime is like Gantz, just leaves you hanging there withought much of an explanation

… There are no more episodes this is the prequel to the game and so the more episodes are the game, so just buy the GU games for the PS2.

nah, there is no 27. the program is the type that leaves it up to your imagination (altough it might be frustrating). And the information on wikipedia isn’t always right so don’t trust that.

if you want to see what happens after the anime series, play the games, .hack//GU, it takes place directly afterwards. and it is true theres an episode 27, its an OVA, and takes place after the game. i would know, i watched it :3

i finally got to see the last five episodes. The reason for this is because of the .hack//GU games. I just beat the vol. 3 (the last of the GU games)today and had to watch these episodes. The last five do have spoilers to the game which is the reason i didn’t watch them until now. i also saw episode 27 and it helps wrap everything up nicely

i just want to add one more thing about episode 27. you have to play the .hack//GU games first or you will be lost and if you want to know the name, it is “.hack//Returner” and it is a short 10-15 minute episode to wrap up the series

yea i think cartoon network is waiting awhile now that the last game is out, to give people sometime to beat the game and then show the last few eps including the 27th one to wrap everything up.

You said you’d have the complete anime of .hack//roots. But episode 28, included in the game .hack//G.U. Redemption is missing. I don’t complain about episode 27, because it’s just a summary of the first 26 episodes
